About
Artist Statement
My work illustrates popular social commentary related to trends in consumerism, capitalism and technology. Using repeating character, motifs, and settings, I create works that form larger narratives that are both dark and whimsical.
Artist Bio
Andrew Lawson is 2-D artist primarily working in printmaking and drawing. He received a Masters in Fine Art with a focus in Printmaking from Texas Tech University. Showing work in many national and international exhibitions, he has numerous awards for his work. Currently, Andrew resides in Midland, Texas, where he runs Cheese Factory Press which is both a home base where he prints from as well as a facility open to the public with a focus on creating education opportunities as well as allowing public access for printmaking.
